Loretta Lynn “We fought hard, we loved hard.”

Country music legend Loretta Lynn posted a touching song on her Instagram feed commemorating what would have been the 73rd wedding anniversary of her marriage to her late husband, Doolittle Lynn.

On January 10, 1948, 15 year old Loretta married 21 year old Doolittle Lynn. She was married at a time and place when things were very different in the world. The two would go on to have six children together. Loretta credits her husband for her career and success.

In 2013, President Obama awarded Loretta Lynn with the Presidential Medal of Freedom and in 2010, Loretta received a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Today would be our 73rd wedding anniversary. I can’t believe it’s been that long. We fought hard and we loved hard. He was my biggest fan and the real force behind my career. He’s the only man I ever loved. I miss you, Doo.”—She said in her comments.

She sings her song ‘I Can’t Hear The Music Anymore’ and what a touching song it is.

If there’s one thing Mrs. Lynn has been honest about it is her very ‘real’ marriage, complete with ups and downs. All you have to do is watch the 1980 movie Coal Miner’s Daughter to see for yourself. It’s worth the watch even though it’s an older movie.
